Koch Chemie

Who Are Koch Chemie?

Koch-Chemie's origin story traces back to its humble beginnings as a family-owned business specializing in crafting cabinets. The driving force behind this venture was Hans Koch, the owner, who grew increasingly dissatisfied with the subpar quality of polishes and waxes available for safeguarding their exquisite furniture pieces. In response to this frustration and a desire for precision, he embarked on a mission to develop a range of products that would meet his exacting standards. In 1968, this vision came to fruition, and Koch-Chemie was born.

Today, Koch-Chemie remains firmly rooted as a family-run enterprise, dedicating its efforts exclusively to the creation of top-tier cleaning, polishing, and protective solutions tailored for the automotive industry. This German brand prides itself on upholding the meticulous attention to detail, pursuit of perfection, and technical innovation that are hallmarks of the nation's manufacturing heritage.

Koch-Chemie's product line initially began as a Professional Range and swiftly gained widespread acclaim, particularly in Germany, where stringent regulations govern wastewater management and environmental protection. These regulations have fostered a thriving professional car wash industry, with over 25 million vehicles receiving Koch-Chemie's care and protection annually. The professional detailing and valeting sector is also thriving, with experts annually treating more than 2 million vehicles using Koch-Chemie products. It comes as no surprise that prestigious automakers such as Porsche, Audi, McLaren, as well as global giants like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and VW, have granted their worldwide approval for the use of Koch-Chemie products in maintaining and preserving their vehicles.

The underlying secret to the effectiveness of Koch-Chemie's products undeniably lies in their exhaustive research and development efforts. Notably, Koch-Chemie boasts its very own Research & Development department staffed with individuals possessing years of experience dedicated to creating products explicitly tailored for the professional automotive industry. This commitment to a scientific approach to development is evident in the product labelling, with each label transparently conveying critical information such as the level of cutting power and gloss enhancement index.

Understanding The Koch Chemie System

Each product name is assigned an abbreviation, which is displayed in the Product System. In combination with the colour codes, it allows easy and quick orientation when working. The individual elements or abbreviations appear not only on the packaging but also in other media and are a further feature of our Koch‑Chemie language. As with the periodic table, the elements are equipped with additional information that describes further core properties of the product.

The superscript with the reference to the ph‑value is used for the quick classification of a product, especially with the cleaners. In the field of paint treatment Koch products are supplemented by other information. The subscripts 01, 02 etc. are the version numbers of the polishes and sealing products. They are consecutive and chronological. The superscript indicates the degree of abrasiveness of a product, the subscript indicates the degree of gloss. This information in the Product System alone clarifies many product characteristics and allows products to be easily compared with each other.
